Individual Psychotherapy

The term psychotherapy covers various forms of treatment for those who are experiencing challenges in their lives.  Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a treatment that developed from the psychoanalytic method.  Psychotherapeutic sessions are usually offered on a weekly or twice weekly basis.  During a typical session, you sit in a chair facing the therapist. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is insight oriented. While you may  choose to focus on a specific problem or symptom, this form of treatment can also help you understand more clearly why you think and feel the way you do.  Through such insight, new, more adaptive strategies can develop so that you can cope more easily with life’s stressors, reach your goals and achieve more satisfaction in life overall.
